Grilled Prawns with Garlic Butter

Nothing says summer in Australia quite like grilled prawns. What better to add with grilled prawns than garlic butter? This recipe is certain to be a hit with friends and family, perfect for those backyard BBQs we’re all so excited to get back to this summer. View our selection of green prawns, pick your favourite, and enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2kg fresh Green Prawns
  • 115g unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 chillies diced & crushed
  • 1 tsp Nuoc Mam (fish sauce)
  • 1 tsp citrus zest (fresh or dried – yuzu, lime, lemon, grapefruit, etc.)

METHOD

Step 1

Pre-heat grill to high heat

Step 2

Rinse prawns and place in large bowl. Heat butter over low to med-low heat. Add garlic, crushed chillies, and nuoc mam. Cook for 1 minute.

Step 3

Pour half of the butter mix over the prawns then return remaining butter mix to stove. Add citrus zest to garlic-butter and keep warm on lowest heat.

Step 4

Gently toss prawns in garlic-butter until they are coated.

Step 5

Place prawns over direct heat. Grill for 3-5 minutes, turning at least once. When prawns are just cooked through, remove from grill and place in a large serving bowl/platter.

Step 6

Pour remaining garlic-citrus-butter over grilled prawns. Serve warm.
