Step 1
In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and minced garlic to create the ginger soy glaze. Set aside.
Step 2
Season both sides of the tuna steaks with salt and pepper.
Step 3
Spread the sesame seeds on a plate and press both sides of each tuna steak into the seeds, ensuring they adhere to the surface.
Step 4
Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet or non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Step 5
Once the oil is hot, carefully place the tuna steaks in the pan. Sear them for about 1-2 minutes per side, depending on how rare you prefer your tuna. For medium-rare, aim for about 1 minute per side.
Step 6
Remove the seared tuna steaks from the pan and set them aside on a cutting board to rest.
Step 7
In the same pan, pour in the ginger soy glaze and let it cook for about 1-2 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.
Step 8
Slice the tuna steaks into thin strips.
Step 9
To serve, drizzle the ginger soy glaze over the sliced tuna and garnish with sliced green onions.
Step 10
Enjoy your seared sesame tuna with ginger soy glaze with a side of steamed rice or a fresh salad.
